KidSTREAM will have a Sensory Room

Carly Fulgham, President of the Autism Society of Ventura County, was in attendance on January 11, 2017, the very first time kidSTREAM presented to the Camarillo City Council. Immediately following the Council vote, Carly introduced herself to the board directors of kidSTREAM and became a fast friend to the emerging organization.
Carly had attended the meeting as an advocate for individuals on the Autism spectrum, but was also curious to learn more about kidSTREAM, as children's museums are near and dear to Carly's heart. Years earlier, while working at the local paper, in Bettendorf, Iowa, she covered the story of the emerging children's museum in her hometown.
Carly knew there was an opportunity for synergy, and connected kidSTREAM with Aaron Feinstein, who was the advisor to the Brooklyn Children's Museum's Sensory Room, and also rooted in Ventura County. Aaron consulted with kidSTREAM on the furnishings and details on a proposal, which was presented before the Autism Society, who have since pledged to sponsor the space, as well as serve as partners in creating a truly inclusive space for all throughout the kidSTREAM site.
