CAMARILLO, California - kidSTREAM is excited to welcome Maria Robles and Kenneth Bauer to the kidSTREAM board of directors.
Maria Robles serves as Senior Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer at MannKind Corporation, where she oversees the company’s legal, compliance, and privacy programs. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in South Florida, Maria began her career in tax advisory consulting before transitioning into law, combining her analytical and business experience to guide ethical and strategic decision-making in the life sciences industry.
As a mother of two young children, ages 7 and 5, Maria is deeply passionate about expanding access to hands-on STEM learning experiences that ignite curiosity, creativity, and confidence in children. She believes that empowering every child to explore and discover through play, regardless of background, is key to shaping the next generation of problem solvers and innovators.
Kenneth Bauer brings decades of experience in business leadership, sales, and human resources to the kidSTREAM Board of Directors. He earned his AA from Santa Barbara City College, a BS from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from the University of Southern California. Over his 24-year career with ARCO, Ken held leadership roles in both Sales and HR before continuing his professional journey with companies such as LA Gear, Line 6 (a Yamaha Music brand), Xircom (acquired by Intel), Semtech, and ValueClick. Beyond his corporate achievements, Ken has dedicated over 30 years to community service, volunteering with organizations including The Discovery Center, Casa Pacifica, and the American Red Cross. Married to his wife Susan since 2004, Ken is passionate about travel and exploring the world. He is guided by his favorite quote from Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
"Maria and Ken join kidSTREAM’s board with a wealth of corporate insight and philanthropic leadership. Their forward-thinking guidance during this critical final phase of our opening, and their passion for strengthening opportunities for local children, will help ensure kidSTREAM delivers transformational learning experiences for families across our community." said Michael Shanklin, Executive Director of kidSTREAM.
